We woke to partly cloudy/mostly sunny skies, and a comfortable 78-degree morning as we pulled out of Toqua Campground. It was an easy 62-mile drive to our next destination, Two Rivers Landing RV Resort in Sevierville, Tennessee.
We arrived around 1:00 p.m. and were delighted to be assigned a beautiful back-in site directly across from the river. The resort immediately impressed us with its immaculate landscaping. Every campsite is accented with blooming crepe myrtles, adding vibrant color and charm throughout the park.
Our first impression was simple—this is a gorgeous resort, and we were excited to settle in and enjoy our stay.

After getting settled, we decided to take a drive through Sevierville, Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg, and into the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. We were quickly reminded that summer is peak tourist season! Traffic was bumper-to-bumper through all three towns, and the crowds were unbelievable. Every parking spce was taken, making it impossible to stop and explore.

Rather than spend the afternoon sitting in traffic, we decided to head back to the peace and quiet of our RV resort. That evening, we took a leisurely walk around Two Rivers Landing. One of our favorite pastimes is admiring all the different makes, models, and creative setups of our fellow RVers’ coaches. Every campground is like its own little RV show, and it’s always fun to see how everyone travels and personalizes their home on wheels.
It turned out to be a relaxing end to our first day in Sevierville, and we were looking forward to seeing what tomorrow would bring.
