Hinton, AB

16 Jul

July 14, 2025

It rained again through the night and most of the day.  We tried to wait out the rain but finally pulled out the raincoats and drove into Hinton.

Hinton is a town of almost 10,000 people on the Yellowhead Highway in the Alberta Rockies region and claims to be a gateway town to the Rockies.

Most of the town is located on either side of highway 16.  We found all the necessary stores;  Walmart, Safeway, Home Hardware, Canadian Tire along with the most popular Fast Food Restaurants.  It was early afternoon and we had not eaten so we stopped at McDonalds.  Their menu included more Canadian favorites and also offered all day breakfast.  Breakfast was our choice!

After lunch, the rain stopped and the day turned out to be quite nice.  Back at the RV park we walked around and looked at all the different RV’s…mostly fifth wheels and Class C.  However, there was a Fantasy RV Tour  with Renegade Super C’s.  It was fun to see all the different paint schemes!

The weahter forecast is for Sun and 70 degrees!  Good weather for exploring!
