Heading North: Ocala, Florida

22 Aug

August 12-14, 2026

After leaving Fort Myers, we continued our journey north toward Tennessee. Our first stop was Ocala, Florida, where we checked into Champions Run RV Resort for two nights.

We were pleasantly surprised by this RV park. We had a great site, and the resort itself had some really nice amenities. There was a large swimming pool, a Tiki Bar, pickleball courts, bocce ball, shuffleboard, a playground, and even a putting green. There was definitely plenty to do if we had wanted to stay longer!

One thing that really impressed us was how spacious the resort was. The roads and sites were very wide, making it easy to maneuver our Class A motorhome. That’s always an important consideration for us when choosing an RV park.

We only stayed for two nights, but we were very impressed with what we saw. It was one of those stops where we found ourselves thinking, We could definitely come back here!

After our short stay in Ocala, it was time to continue heading north.

First: A Quick Stop at Freightliner

August 14, 2026

Before leaving Ocala, we had one important stop to make at Freightliner. We needed to have an update installed on our TPMS system—the tire pressure monitoring system that had been giving us some false readings on our tires.

We were hoping it would be a quick and easy fix, and Freightliner did not disappoint. They were very efficient and completed the update while we sat in the RV in their parking lot. The entire process took less than an hour, and we were soon back on the road.

It was nice to have the issue taken care of without having to spend hours waiting in a service area or leave the RV. One more item checked off our list!

From Ocala, we continued north into Georgia. We drove to Perry, GA and then stayed for the night at Twin Oaks RV Park in Elko, Georgia.

It was another short overnight stop as we continued making our way north toward Tennessee.
