Utah to Idaho

Day 4

July 13, 2019

The campground was very quiet over night and we slept in too late to see the bikers off on their journey.  There were several bikers staying in our campground, but, we didn’t hear any signs of them leaving for the race.

It was cloudy, misty, and 73 degrees at 9:15 AM when we left the KOA.  We stopped for Diesel…$3.09/gallon and continued on I-15 towards Salt Lake City.  Since we’ve traveled this route many times, it is hard to find new things that excite us.

Near Provo, UT, I began looking for the Young Living Lavender Farm.  On earlier trips, we have driven past the farm when the lavender was in bloom.  Hooray!   The fields were in bloom today! The Young Living Lavender Farm and Distillery includes 1,400 acres of fragrant lavender and a cool reservoir, set against the rugged mountains. Unfortunately, we missed the annual Lavender Day Festival…it was in June.  Maybe next year!

(Somehow my camera settings got changed and all of my windshield photos of the Lavender Farms are blurry.)

We cruised on I-15 along the Wasatch Mountain Range, passing lots of beautiful farms in northern Utah. In the distance we could see snow capped mountain peaks as we entered into Idaho. In Pocatello, ID,  we checked into the Cowboy RV Park…another familiar stop from last year.   A quick trip to Wal-mart to stock up on groceries and our day was done.

Tomorrow we will sleep next to the Salmon River!

If Ken didn’t have a traveling partner (me), he might choose this instead of a RV!
