On February 1, it was 67 degrees and Sunny when we pulled away from the Savannah KOA. We drove southwest on highway 84 from Savannah to Thomasville, and then picked up highway 319 towards Tallahassee. Highway 319, known as the Plantation Parkway, passes by several privately owned plantations in Plantation Country. We could only get glimpses of the plantations every now and then, so I could not get any photos. Later I did an internet search and saw some amazing Plantation photos! We continued 30 miles West of Tallahassee to the Triple C Campground for the night.
It was foggy and rainy on our drive to Gulf Shores, AL. By the time we arrived at Bella Terra RV Resort, it was cold, damp, and windy. As soon as we got parked on our site, it started raining. Ken was caught in the rain while hooking up the electric, water, and sewer. He took shelter underneath one of the slideouts and was able to keep dry.
During our stay 3 night-4day stay at Bella Terra, we visited Gulf Shores, Orange Beach, Perdido Key, Foley, and Fort Morgan. We completed a tour of the Bella Terra RV resort and another new RV community, Reunion Point. We were invited to take a bus trip to the Mobile, AL Mardi Gras festivities, but, decided to pass on the invite, since we would have to extend our stay for 4 days. Maybe next year! A trip to the beach would not be complete without a fish dinner. So, we ate lunch at one of our new favorite places…The Shrimp Basket!
Bella Terra is rated as one of the top 5 RV Resorts in the country and we were excited to visit the resort and learn more about the Gulf Shores area.
