Today, we left Caldwell, Idaho and headed west into Oregon via the Central Oregon Highway, route 20, also known as the Oregon Trail.    We travelled 313 miles amidst desert-like scrub fields with scattered farms and cow pastures.  Haystacks were plentiful along this road, too!  We continued through many small towns as well as the larger town, Bend, Oregon.

We decided to pass through Bend, Oregon and drive on to Sisters, Oregon.  Earlier in the day we made a reservation at the Sisters Garden RV Resort.  It is a very popular resort and we were lucky to get a spot for the night.  After checking in and being escorted to our site, it was easy to understand it’s popularity!  The amenities were “top notch” and the grounds were beautifully landscaped. I especially liked the park’s centerpiece…a beautiful, quiet lake, complete with a fountain!

The community of Sisters is a small western style town (pop 2000) on the edge of the high desert.  The snowcapped Thee Sisters Peaks, form the back drop for the town.  Unfortunately, I could not get a good photo of The Three Sisters due to the many tall trees in the foreground.

We closed out the day with an evening walk around the beautiful RV Park and lake.
