Last night we stopped in Columbia, MO and stayed at the Cottonwoods RV Resort, again. This was our 3rd overnight at this location in 2 years…are we regulars yet? They didn’t know us by name, so I guess we haven’t attained “regular” status.
The temperature this morning was a cool 61 degrees! The cooler temps are giving our air conditioners a rest after running constantly in the hot, humid, Florida weather.
We left early again today…8:30 AM. We stopped for Breakfast and then continued on our way towards Kansas City, There was no need to stop in Kansas City since we have passed through there many times. Also, when I was working for P&G, my division offices were located in Kansas City. We were able to pass on through and head north on I-29 towards Nebraska.
Once we crossed into Nebraska, we had some difficulty locating a campground with a vacancy for our motorhome size. We finally settled on the Camp A Way in Lincoln, NE. It is a good thing that it was nice and had spacious campsites, since, it was the most expensive campground we have stayed at on this trip! At least we got a Good Sam Discount!
We have never been to Lincoln, NE and we were anxious to tour the area. Lincoln is the capital and the second-most populous city of the State of Nebraska, after Omaha. Lincoln is also the county seat of Lancaster County and the home of the University of Nebraska. Here are some of the interesting places we saw today:

Tomorrow we are planning to drive to Ogallala, NE. I will always remember the name “Ogallala” from our first camping trip in 1983. Things have sure changed since then…
