Time to get on the road again. During our 5 day stay in Vermont we have experienced lots of rain. When we checked into the Lazy Lions RV park, the owner told me it had been raining for one month. Because of that comment, I was concerned about our assigned grassy pull-thru site and the wet, soggy, ground. He informed me that their was a large RV in the same space that left earlier in the day and had no trouble getting out. Therefore, we would be fine. But, we sat in that spot for five days of rain as the ground was getting wetter and muddy in some places. Five days later, I still had the same question…Could we get our large, heavy RV out of our space?
To begin with, our space was on a slight incline, but, we had no trouble leveling when we arrived. To leave the RV park, Ken needed to back out of the space…slightly downhill. My job was to direct him out of the space. I’m not the best at giving signals and while backing up, Ken almost hit a firering and large rock with the front of the RV. I DID see what was happening, but, before I could tell Ken, he was out of the RV. Not the happiest camper! The good news is that the RV did not hit anything. In order to get away from the rock and firing, Ken needed to pull forward to realign the RV. That is when the problems began. He needed to go uphill and could not get traction due to all of the mud. The more he tried the worse it got. Back and forth repeatedly, but, could not make it up the very slight hill. By this time, we had the attention of all the other campers. Finally, three men came over to help and came up with a plan to get the RV unstuck. Ken ended up backing up across a roadway and then repositioned a few times and drove out of the RV park in the opposite direction. The whole process only took 20 minutes but felt like 2 hrs! We left our space in a real mess that the owner will have to fix. We left in such a hurry, that we did not get a photo of the muddy holes we left behind. The lesson learned…no more parking on grass! (we did it once before in Western Canada with the same result).
It was a cloudy day once we got on the road. We drove through small towns in New Hampshire and Maine. The rivers were swollen and the water was moving quickly over the dams.
Below are select photos that were taken along our route from Vermont to Maine. I love the little towns with the USA Flag lined streets, the white steeple churches, and random Kitsch along the way.

We arrived in Hermon, ME at 3:30 PM and checked into the Pumpkin Patch RV Resort for 7 days. The best part of the day was when we retrieved our package from the RV office that contained our new Inverter. We have been nine days without the Inverter and we are anxious to get that installed!
The RV office gave us a restaurant recomendaton for dinner. It was not far and we arrived just in time to order and eat before cloing at 7PM. The restaurant was a very popular local restaurant with several fish options on their menu. I chose that Haddock and Ken chose the Lobster Roll. Both were excellent.
Now it’s time to see what Maine living is all about!
