Day 6 – June 11, 2022

18 Jun

Vernal, UT to Rock Springs, WY

It was 77 degrees at 10:AM when when our wheels began to roll this morning.  We have been looking forward to this Rally for quite awhile. It is a special Rally is because it the 50 Year Anniversary for Tiffin Motorhomes. We can’t wait to celebrate!

Today, we drove 109 miles on another curvy, steep highway at high elevation.  I found it interesting that the elevation was never posted, but the terrain was a dead give-away that we were on a high driving road.

The last part of our drive was along the far edge of the Flaming Gorge.  We could just see a small piece of the lake. We weren’t really sure if we had been in this area before, but, once we saw the white bridge, we remembered.  The highway crossed over the Dam, but, we didn’t stop today,  Perhaps, a separate trip to this area in the next few days?

We arrived around noon at the Sweetwater Events Complex.  We were greeted by a host of volunteers to get us checked-in and parked….our home for the next 7 nights. We made our way to the registration booth and picked up our back of Tiffin Swag….hat, tote bag, lanyard, 50 yr pin, pad folio, flashlight, etc.

After getting set up in our site, we did a quick tour of Rock Springs.  We drove through the downtown and saw the historic district with some old houses.

Tomorrow – Our Rally Adventure begins!
