After 4 days of touring Yellowstone National Park, we thought it was time for a change of scenery. We headed out of West Yellowstone on highway 20. We passed through Island Park and continued on to Ashton where we got on highway 32. We passed through the small towns of Driggs and Victor…both towns were ready for the July 4 weekend.

Continuing on the road, we reached the Teton Pass. Teton Pass is a high mountain pass 8,431 ft above sea level. It is located near the border of Wyoming and Idaho. The road over the pass is paved with sharp turns, a 10% grade, and is 17.4 miles long.

After crossing the Teton Pass we arrived in Jackson, WY. The town was very crowded and parking was limited. We finally found a parking space on a side street and walked to the main part of Jackson. We went in a few stores, but everything was just so crowded. My favorite part of Jackson is the Antler Arch. Actually, there are four elk antler arches guarding the corners of the Town Square. A visit to Jackson is not complete without a photo under the Arch.

After leaving Jackson, we started the scenic drive towards the Teton National Park. The Grand Teton National Park is roughly 5 miles away from Jackson. It includes the Teton Mountain Range, and is roughly 310,000 acres. As we drove along, we could see the Tetons rising 13,000 feet into the sky. Along the road there were many different places to stop and see view the Teton Range from different angles. We took the Jenny Lake Scenic Drive which skirts the east shore of Jenny Lake and had spectacular views of the peaks.

We continued on through Teton National Park and into Yellowstone National Park. After a long day of driving (and riding), we made it back to our RV home in the late afternoon. What a great day of sightseeing!
