Ocean Front Camping RV Park is where we started and ended our Maritime adventure. We were even assigned the RV space right next to where we stayed on our first stop. As we checked into the RV park it was high tide and there was fog hanging over the Bay. Dejavu? Just like our first stay. Soon after getting situated, the fog disappeared and the afternoon was beautiful. We sat outside looking toward the bay and enjoyed the fresh air and sunshine. Talking with our RV neighbors we learned that they were from Mishawauka, IN. Hoosiers side by side in Canada!
Later, during low tide we walked down the steps to the ocean floor. We walked way out into the bay looking at all the different rocks, shells, seaweed, etc. We even decided to get our feet wet in the Bay of Fundy!
Our last day, was also a gorgeous, sunny day. I read about a Farmer’s Market that is held every Thursday from 9-1. We found the location and It turned out to be more of a market festival. Very fun! There were food vendors, arts and craft vendors, musicians, and a few farm type stands. It was crowded, but, easy enough to get around. I enjoyed looking at all of the crafts made from shells, rocks, and sea glass.
After looking at all the booths, we walked to the pier to look at the boats. On the pier, we passed a group of tourists wearing orange one-piece suits. They looked like they might have just landed from outer space! Acutally, they were going on a whale watching tour and the suits were flotation suits. We watched as they loaded into the boat and motored out into the bay.
We returned to the Clam Digger Restaurant for one more Haddock Fish and Chips Dinner. We went in the mid- afternoon, hoping to miss the crowds. Wrong! It was even busier than our first time!
In the RV Park we talked with neighbors from Shediac, New Brunswick…the lobster capital of the world. The husband grew up in a fishing village and was lobster fisherman. Today he owns a real estate company with 58 employees. Quite a career change! They have a daughter in the US and own a home in Naples, FL. Do all Canadians have homes in the USA? It seems as though eveyone we met has a home or RV spot in the states.
We were happy that our two days in St. Andrews turned out to be so beautiful. Traveling is so much more fun when the weather is good!

AND…it was raining when we left this morning. It was foggy and rainy as we drove towards Calis, ME to cross the border into the USA. We arrived at the border at 11:05 AM and finally made it through at 1:05PM! What was the proble? Bad signage and not enough open lanes. There were only 3 lanes open…cars/trucks, RV’s, commercial.
We would have been through much earlier, but, so many RV’s, cars with tent trailers, trucks with trailers, and cars with tear drop trailers got into the wrong lane. The signage didn’t clearly indicate what lane they should be ing. Because they were in the wrong lane, they all wanted to merge into our lane. It all started with a fifth-wheel that was in the wrong lane sitting right next to us. The border patrol officer told us to stay put and let him get in front of us. Then, other RV’s and trailers continued to get into that car lane and the fifth-wheel let them all get in front of him. It seemed like we might sit there all day! Finally, we moved up enough in line and the nonsense stopped.To make things even slower, the border patrol was going inside all RV’s and trailers. When it was finally our turn, we had to give up Eggs and peppers. After the search, all RV’s had to go through an x-ray scan. During the scan process, I had to exit the RV and wait until I was allowed to re-enter the RV. This entire border crossing process was new for us and we have crossed the border several times.
Back in the USA, we drove to Bar Harbor, Maine where we will be staying for 4 nights
