Where is the RV??
Our summer adventure will have a new look. In January we decided to bite the bullet and purchase a new motorhome! We figured it was now or never, so, we chose to move forward. After many discussions about exterior and interior color schemes, we placed our order for a 2026 Tiffin Allegro Bus. Our expected delivery date was to be sometime in May. The next step was to sell our 2009 Allegro Bus. We were hopeful that it would sell quickly and it did…we sold it in three days! It was bittersweet to let it go, but we sold it to a couple that was so exited to own it. We will always have our memories created during our 13 year ownership.
The delivery of our new motorhome was later than expected. May came/went and finally during the first week of June we received the call that the coach had been delivered to NIRVC Nashville. We actually had advance notice that the RV was ready to be delivered. A Tiffin friend that was in Red Bay, AL (home of Tiffin Motorhomes) searched the Tiffin Facilities and found our coach in the delivery staging lot. He went back the next day for more pictures and it was gone. We then knew it was on its way Nashville!
We scrambled to rent a u-haul trailer to tow all our RV “stuff” behind our Jeep. We rented a small trailer and it was completely full! It is amazing how much 2 people can need and use in an RV! We left our AZ home on June 6 and began our travels toward Nashville.

Our first stop was El Paso where we visited our daughter Leslie and family. It was a good but quick visit. We left early Monday morning to continue towards Nashville. We made overnight stops in Dallas, Memphis, and Nashville.
After leaving Dallas, we started seeing billboard signs for Buckees! Since it was time for breakfast, we thought we would make a Buckees stop for donuts. We browsed through the store noting all the cool items for sale, but, we were on a mission for donuts. However, there was not a donut in sight! We stopped at the bakery section and settled on a pastry called “Paddlewheel”. It was a a light, crunchy pastry with a sweet sugar coating. Delicious!
During our trip, we chose KOA camping cabins for our overnight lodging.. This decision was centered around security for our trailer filled with “our stuff”. Within the KOA campgrounds we were able to have our trailer and Jeep parked outside our cabin and be within a fairly secure facility. (In the past we have had vehicles broken into while parked in hotel parking lots.) We stayed in 3 different cabins and each one had a different personality inside and out. It was definitely a different kind of camping experience for us!

Upon arriving in Lebanon, TN, we made a quick drive to the National Indoor RV Center (NIRVC) where we would pick up our new coach. We drove around the huge facility and found our coach parked outside getting a wash. It was exciting to finally lay eyes on our purchase!
On Thursday, June 11, we arrived at NIRVC for our 9:00 AM appointment. We met Brandon, our RV walk-through specialist, who took us into the large warehouse to finally see and touch our coach. She’s a beauty! After our walk-through, it was time to fork out the $$$$$$$!
The folks at NIRVC are very nice and said we can stay as long as we want until we feel comfortable with the technology and all systems ard working perfectly. They even joked that they would get us our own mailbox!
It looks like we have our work cut out for us…lots of reading material!

Today, We have been at NIRVC in Lebanon, TN for one week. We found a few small things that need to be addressed. The service department has been wonderful. We are just waiting on approvals and deliveries. We did take the coach out for a couple of test drives so Ken could get used to all the bells and whistles. There is a lot going on in that cockpit! No need to think they forgot about the co-pilot…I even have my own navigation system and camera! As soon as we finish up here in TN, we will be heading to the Tiffin “mothership” in Red Bay Alabama. We have a few after market must-haves to purchase! It’s only Money!
Fingers crossed that we will be “On the Road Again” soon!
