Arriving in Richmond Hill, GA was a highlight of our trip! We were so excited to see our grandchildren; Lily and Carter, and of course Leslie and Gabe. It had been 8 months since we visited with them. Things have changed; Lily is starting Kindergarten, Leslie is now a working mom, and Leslie and Gabe are expecting their 3rd baby in December…another boy! The kids are bigger, smarter, and if possible…even cuter!
Lily was excited to spend the night with Grandma and Grandpa in the motor home. She informed us that she was going to stay for 4 nights! The first night she slept with Grandma and fell asleep quickly. The second night she didn’t even know that she was sleeping in the motor home, since she fell asleep in the car on the way back to the campground. In the end, she only ended up spending 3 nights.
On the fifth day of our stay, Ken and I discovered that we were not immune to childhood germs. Ken, Gabe, and Carter all contracted a stomach virus. I came down with a sore throat and cough that lasted for the remainder of our visit. I also got Pink Eye in both eyes and needed to stay away from everyone for 3 days!
Even though we were sick, we did manage to do some fun things; back to school shopping, swimming, babysitting, dinner at Fishtails, and watching Lily walk home from school on her first day of Kindergarten!
We wish we could have stayed longer, but it was time to go so the Miritello family could get back to their normal routine. We will be back… We will return when the new baby arrives!
