On 6/11/2023 We checked into the Des Moines KOA and discovered that it was the place to be! We arrived in the early afternoon and first thing we noticed was that the swimming pool was very crowded, The temperature was in the mid 70’s and for us Arizonians…it is too cold to swim! Apparently, The Iowa residents don’t agree! We found the Campground to be very family friendly and offered lots of games and activities. If we still had kids in tow, it would be a great place to hang out during the summer months. But for now, this is just a stop-over before we arrive at The Tiffin RV Rally.
Each year The Tiffin Motorhomes Allegro Club hosts 2-3 Rally’s in various locations across the country. This year the location is the Amana Colonies in Amana Iowa. The rally space is always limited and the sell out very quickly. This year a lottery was used to determine who was selected for 300 spaces and we were fortunate to get chosen. Sometimes we are lucky!
At the Rally there are Vendor Booths, RV Educational Seminars, Food Trucks, Ice Cream Socials, and nightly entertainment. Also, an Allegro Club Store and Of course, there will be new coaches on display and for sale
We arrived at the Amana RV and Event Center in the late morning on Sunday. We had been informed that 173 Tiffin RV’s would be arriving on Sunday between 9-4. Upon our arrival, everything was quick and easy. After being directed to our RV site and getting set up, we hitched a ride on the golf cart shuttle over to Registration where we checked in, received our new Tiffin Allegro Club Name Tags and Tiffin Swag Bag. It’s always fun to look through all the goodies from Tiffin and their vendors.
While settling in back at the RV, we met our RV neighbors from Kansas, Indiana, and Ohio. Other RV friends, that we met 2 years ago in Terre Haute, IN, had also arrived and came over to great us. We instantly new that we were going to have a great time.
