We woke up early this morning for our return trip to Tok, Alaska. Ken grabbed some coffee for the road and we stopped at the Chechako Bakery and selected two Sticky Buns. What a treat!
Definition of Chechako: A New comer to Alaska who has much to learn about navigating the harsh winters and customs of Alaska.
In Dawson City, The George Black Ferry transports vehicles across the Yukon River to the Top of the World Highway. We arrived at the Ferry and were first in the small car line. There were two motorhomes and one truck in line. When the Ferry returned to our side of the river, we drove onto the Ferry and were quickly on our way!
The TOW climbed from the western banks of the Yukon River and ascended into the mountains. We experienced views of mountains and valleys in every direction (when it wasn’t too cloudy).

We had a mixture of weather today; cloudy, sunny, low hanging clouds, and rain. I found the weather conditions and the winding road very good for sleeping!
We arrived at The Poker Creek/Little Gold Creek Border Crossing known as North America’s northernmost international border crossing. We never know what to expect at the border crossing. This time, the agent didn’t ask us anything critical. He only wanted to know if we take the top and doors off of our Jeep! Have a nice day…Enjoy your trip!

We arrived back at Tok RV Village in the early afternoon. The Jeep was really dirty from all of the road muck. After unpacking the Jeep and opening up the RV, Ken took the Jeep to the RV Park Car Wash. The good news…he didn’t have to wash the RV!
With our travel plans set for the next 7 days, we are ready to get “on the road again”.
Tomorrow- Fairbanks, Alaska
