One of the difficult tasks of RV travel is finding a good place to stay every night. We are equipped with all of the necessary tools to help with the selection; Woodalls Camping Directory, AAA, KOA, Next Exit, RV Park Reviews, and numerous online forums.
What do we look for? The campground has to be big rig friendly, level sites, clean restrooms (even though we don’t have to use them), 50 AMP service, water, sewer, Cable TV, and one of the most important items…WIFI! So you see, it is not as easy as one might think!
Ken and I travel with 3 computers and 2 iPads. Why do we need all of that technology? I need my computers for my photography and Ken uses his for administrative tasks. We both use our iPads for email and internet surfing. Ken does have a new use for his iPad…it is called Real Racing! My brother introduced him to it while we were in Indiana and he is hooked! Now he has his brother hooked on it too!
What would we do without our iPads? Ken almost found out. On our last day in Fort Myers, Ken shattered the screen on his 2 month old iPad. He certainly didn’t want to spend the money to buy a new one, but, accidents happen! We visited the Apple Store and they were able to give him a replacement for a reduced cost. All is well and the racing can continue!
Today, we left Fort Myers at 10am to start our long trek to Oregon. We drove 350 Miles to Cecil, GA, North of Valdosta. Today, there was not a big selection of campgrounds so we settled on Cecil Bay RV Park. When we arrived, most of their 100 campsites were empty. We were assigned a site on a row all by ourselves…that’s nice! However, when we hooked up our electricity, we could not get all 3 air conditioners to run. These kinds of problems are not good at the end of a long driving day. We relocated to a different site 2 more times to try to fix the problem. Finally, Ken realized that we had popped an interior circuit breaker on 1 AC and the problem was resolved. Things weren’t a bad as they seemed! That’s enough excitement for today!
Tomorrow we will be ready to get on the road again to wherever 300 miles takes us!
