Yesterday was cold, windy, and rainy, so, we stayed inside our warm motorhome. Besides a couple of RV arrivals, we didn’t see much outside activity.

With calmer weather today, we decided to check out the Kerr Dam, officially known as the Seli’š Ksanka Qlispe’ Dam. The dam is on the Lower Flathead River. The concrete gravity-arch dam is 204 feet high, which is 54 feet higher than Niagara Falls. A 1,000 foot wooden stairway takes you down, right above the falls, where you can enjoy an amazing view of the falls and canyon! There are differing opinions on the number of steps down to the falls. Some say there are 100 steps and others report that 355 is the correct number. It sure felt like 355…down and up! I complained on every step, all the way up…just ask Ken! After the hike up to the jeep, we left the observation area and meandered (by car) a couple of miles down the road to the power station. We were the only ones along the river, but we could see where rafters use the area to launch their rafts. No rafters today!
On our way back to the RV Park, we passed a museum with lots of old “stuff”: cars, boats, farm equipment, etc. I was attracted to the “Big Boys Tonka Truck”. Ken liked the old RV complete with FMCA (RV Club) plaque. Move over Cousin Eddie! But, what was it? The Ultramotion Coach was built by Marshall Sanders in the 60’s. It was a 1947 Spartan Travel Trailer, 1966 Olds Tornado engine and front wheel drive, GMC Truk front, Pontiac Grill and front bumper, and 1959 Ford Tailights. That was one unique RV!

It was significantly warmer when we returned to the RV Park. We hung around outside and talked with several of our neighbors. We got all the latest gossip about the Motorcoach Resort. Also, we found out that he folks parked in front of us on the lower level are from Chandler, AZ! We will have to find out more about them!
We are in the Mountain Time Zone and that equals longer days in Montana. The sunset is approximately 9:40PM. Tonight, it was spectacular!
