It was a sunny morning as we pulled away from the Cowboy RV Park. Our destination…North Fork, iD. We’ve been to North Fork, ID a few times and today we took a new route. We took I-15 to state Highway 33 to Highway 28. We were a little anxious about the route, but, it was fine. The roadway turned out to be the Sacajawea Historic Byway.
Looking out my window, I saw many interesting things: small farms, farm animals with babies, and of course snow capped mountains. The mountains were breathtaking, but, I really like the ranches, hay bales, and old log buildings.

We followed US 33 to Salmon, an 1860s mining town and now a center for ranchers, loggers, and river runners. The road followed along the raging Salmon River. The river was full and fast!

The Wagon Hammer RV Park was our destination for two nights. It’s location is in northeastern Idaho, 19 miles north of Salmon Idaho.
It was a small, privately owned RV Park with only 57 sites. The park attraction…The Salmon River running right in front of 27 camping spots and one of those spots was ours!

What a small World! Our RV neighbors were from Chandler, AZ and traveling to Alaska!! They actually live very close to us! It was great getting acquainted with them. We plan to keep in tourch.
After several days of traveling, we decided to go out for dinner. We didn’t have many choices in the small area of North Fork. We decided on the Water’s Edge RV Park and Pizzeria. Last year when we stayed at the RV park, the restaurant was closed. This time the restaurant was open and the Pizza was great! We ordered a large pizza and had leftovers to take home!

Since we were close to the water, we knew there would be bugs. Not wanting to get attacked by any type of flyling insects, Ken sprayed insect repellent on his ankles inside the RV and set off the Smoke detector! That was exciting!
We gathered our chairs and binnoculars and sat along the river edge looking for wildlife in the mountains. Ken spotted one lonely Elk and we watched it until it moved out of sight. We wish we could have seen more.

On our second day, we stayed at the RV relaxing and reading. The campground host stopped by for a quick chat that turned into a long coversation about motorhomes, traveling, campgrounds, etc. There is always something new to learn.
There is always work to do while traveling in an RV. Today, Ken had to work on the Aqua-hot.

This was our last night in North Fork and there weren’t any animals visible tonight. We went inside early to get ready for tomorrow’s drive.
Tomorrow…near Polson, MT and Flathead Lake
