On our last day in Petoskey, we went to the Gaslight Shopping District to look for Petoskey Stones. I did some research and found that Grandpa Shorters gift shop had the best selection of stones. We were surprised at the prices on the stones! I was interested in a heart-shaped stone that was approximately 4”x4”. The price… $550. I was not that interested. Instead, I ended up buying a Petoskey Pendant.
We stopped for lunch at the Petoskey Brewing company. The old 4 story brick building was constructed in 1898 and used to brew Petoskey Sparkle beer until 1915. In 2012, after renovations and new management, the Sparkle Beer returned. Today, Ken and I both tried the American Sparkle Lager. It must be popular, because they ran out before we finished our lunch. Ken had to switch to the Horny Monk…not so good.

After lunch, we stopped at another gift shop, Indian Wells, that was recommended to us. There, I found a more affordable Petoskey Stone. I have been trying to collect unique items from the places we visit. I think these stones qualify as unique!

Before returning to the motorhome, we stopped at the Little Traverse Bay and walked on the pier. Once we reached the end, we realized that everyone there, was swimming. Kids were having a grand time jumping off the end of the pier. It looked like fun, but I am sure the water was Cold!
