Today we drove 77 miles to our next destination of Silt, CO. Located in the heart of Colorado’s Western Slope.

We arrived at the Glenwood Springs KOA right on time for a noon check-in.  The KOA is located on the Colorado River, 17 miles west of Glenwood Sprigs and adjacent to the “old west”town of Silt. The RV park is quite new and has spectacular mountain views and frontage along the majestic Colorado River.

We unhitched the Jeep and drove 17 miles to Glenwood Springs.  We found that there have been several changes and improvements since our last visit in 2014. Glenwood Springs is famous for it’s hot springs and a wide range of outdoor activities..

Since we were limited on time, we opted for a quick drive around the town and a stop at Doc Holliday’s Saloon.  The legendary stop was a bar and restaurant in one. We found two seats at the bar and were taken back in time with the rustic, no-frills atmosphere complete with historic photos and wood-lined walls.  We met a very nice”local” couple that gave us an insight of Colorado living.

Back to the RV for dinner and walk down to the Colorado River!  I even saw Ken put his toes in the water!
