The first night out in the motorhome is always the toughest as we get settled into our “home on wheels”. Last night was no exception. Since, we usually travel in warmer weather, it seemed weird getting adjusted to using heat in our RV.
We came prepared for colder temperatures… warm clothes, blankets, more blankets, ceramic heater… all in addition to the RV heat and Aqua Hot systems. Needless to say, we were not cold, but TOO hot! We need to work on temperature regulation.
Even though it was toasty warm inside, the outside temperature dipped to a cold 19 degrees! As we started out on the road today, the temperature had risen to 27 degrees! Despite the cold temperature, it was a beautiful, sunny day as we continued on our trip east.
The traffic was heavy as we drove through El Paso, TX. We also ran into some road construction which added to the traffic congestion. As we drove on the long stretch of highway, I had a good view of Juarez Mexico out of my side window.
After entering the Central Time Zone and losing one hour of time, we stopped for the night in Van Horn, TX. In Van Horn, I was happy to see the Christmas Decor on the lamp-post-lined main street!
We checked into the Southern Star RV Resort and enjoyed the sunshine streaming through our front window! When the sun goes down, we will have to begin working on our temperature regulation for the night. We are expecting another cold night…28 degrees!
