Today we set a record for departure time! We actually were on the road before 9 AM! Maybe the time change had something to do with our early rising?
We left Cecil, GA via I-75 and traveled through Macon, Atlanta and Chattanooga,TN. In Chattanooga we took I-24 and continued to Nashville. I was aware that Nashville was called “Music City” but I now know that it is also referred to as the “Buckle of the Bible Belt” and the “Athens of the South”.
A drive through Tennessee would not be complete without seeing a few Fireworks stores along the way.
There seemed to be a lot of traffic on the road today and it was mostly Semi- Trucks! I have never seen so many trucks!
It was a beautiful day and we could feel that the humidity and temperature were less than in Florida. It was 68 degrees in Cecil, GA this morning and 83 degrees in Clarksville this afternoon. Very Nice!
Tonight, we stopped in Clarksville, TN and checked into the Clarksville RV Park & Campground. The town was founded in 1789 and named for General George Rogers Clark, a frontier Military Leader and U.S. Indian commissioner. Fort Campbell is nearby and is the home of the 101st Airborne Division.
We are hoping for another beautiful day tomorrow as we continue on the road again towards St. Louis, MO.
