On our way to Red Bay, Alabama, we stopped for the night in Hoover, AL. Hoover is the largest suburb of Birmingham. We stayed at the Hoover Met Complex, a multi-use complex featuring a 155,000 square foot indoor facility and field house, the Hoover Met Stadium, a full service RV Park, and outdoor fields. The RV park had 170 pull-through parking sites with full hook-ups and wi-fi. We made online reservations for the RV Park and were suppose to receive a gate code via email at the completion of the registration. Somebody entered the email address incorrectly, therefore, we never received the email with the gate code. Of course this occurred on Sunday and it was impossible to contact anyone to help us out. Over the next few hours we worried: How would we get into the RV Park without the code? Would we be able to get into the RV Park? All of our worrying was for nothing…the gate was open when we arrived! Later we found out that the gate lock had not even been installed, yet. Maybe we should reconsider traveling on Sundays!
We arrived in Red Bay, AL on Monday August 13. We chose into the Downtown RV Park instead of the Tiffin Service Center Rv Park. Red Bay is a very small town and The Downtown RV Park was very convenient to the Tiffin Motorhome Factory. We spent three days looking at 2019 Motorhomes that were in varying stages of completion. We saw all of the models that will be offered in 2019. We talked with the sales department and viewed the interior color swatches and samples. We even had a brief conversation with Bob Tiffin! We also drove over to the paint plant in Belmont, MS to pick out an exterior paint scheme. Now, we need to decide when and where we want to place an order! Since we cannot buy a motorhome directly from the factory, we plan to stop in Memphis, TN to meet with a couple of dealers. These particular dealers have a great reputation with their customers and with the Tiffin Family.
During our stay at the RV Park, we met some really nice folks from Alabama, Illinois, and Texas. We shared some great stories and laughs while hanging out at the Downtown RV Park.
