After a quick 2 week stay at our Sun Lakes home, we were off for the 2nd part of our Summer Adventure.
We left home in the late morning and began our drive towards Pinetop, AZ.
We passed through desert landscape and dramatic gorges, before entering the mountains and the Salt River Canyon. It was amazing to drive through the deep canyon and view the Salt River. Today, the river was brown and muddy from all of the recent rains.
After rising out of the canyon bottom, we were in the ponderosa pine forest in the White Mountains of Arizona. We drove to the town of Show Low and headed south to our destination. It was 66 degrees and raining when we arrived In Pinetop. Our friends, that recently purchased a home in the area, were generous and offered us a space to park our RV for the night. We enjoyed dinner and conversation at a local mexican restaurant before settling in for the night. Thank you Tom and Susan for your hospitality!
