We stopped in Shreveport, LA and discovered that the area has experienced record rainfall, tornadoes, and flooding within the last few weeks. The Red River was very muddy and swollen. We heard that it crested today at 37’…flood stage is 30′. The Riverwalk area was closed due to flooding so we couldn’t visit the historic area.
From our RV site at Diamond Jack’s Casino, we walked over to the Hotel/Casino but it appeared that part of it was closed due to recent flooding. I heard on the news that it will be quite awhile before the river returns to “normal”.
Tomorrow- Vicksburg, MS…if we can find a RV Park!
